Perched 30 meters high in a fig tree, she's investigating the diverse life it supports—plants, fungi, and bacteria. Using a molecular approach, she's collecting samples across the tree and canopy to extract DNA, uncovering the hidden biodiversity.

Surprisingly, what was thought to be one tree is actually two, with one strangling the other. This discovery opens doors to understanding how different trees host unique life forms.
