Este ano, o Dia Internacional da Diversidade Biológica das Nações Unidas tem como tema "Do Acordo à Ação: Reconstruindo a Biodiversidade".
Visto a urgente necessidade de reavaliar nossa relação com o mundo natural, torna-se evidente que, apesar de nosso notável progresso tecnológico, nosso bem-estar depende inteiramente de ecossistemas prósperos, saudáveis e robustos. Esses ecossistemas nos fornecem recursos essenciais, como água, alimentos, medicamentos, roupas, combustível, abrigo e energia, entre muitos outros. É imperativo que honremos, protejamos e reabilitemos nossa inestimável riqueza biológica.
Este ano tem um significado excepcional para a conservação da biodiversidade. Estamos com o senso de otimismo renovado após a adoção do Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, assinada em dezembro do ano passado. Esse acordo histórico estabelece metas e medidas concretas para deter e reverter o declínio da natureza até 2050.
Esse slogan enfatiza a importância de traduzir o plano de ação acordado em resultados tangíveis em escala global. Devemos implementar diligentemente todas as medidas delineadas no acordo antes de 2030 para garantir a preservação e a sustentabilidade da diversidade biológica até 2050.

From agreement to action: build back biodiversity
This year, the United Nations' International Day for Biological Diversity takes on the theme "From Agreement to Action: Build Back Biodiversity."
In light of the urgent need to reassess our relationship with the natural world, it becomes evident that, despite our remarkable technological progress, our well-being relies entirely on thriving, healthy, and robust ecosystems. These ecosystems provide us with essential resources such as water, food, medicine, clothing, fuel, shelter, and energy, among many others. It is imperative that we honor, safeguard, and rehabilitate our invaluable biological wealth.
This year holds exceptional significance for biodiversity conservation. We are infused with a renewed sense of optimism following the adoption of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, signed in December last year. This historic agreement establishes goals and concrete measures to halt and reverse the decline of nature by 2050.
This slogan emphasizes the importance of translating the agreed-upon action plan into tangible results on a global scale. We must diligently implement all the measures outlined in the agreement before 2030 to ensure the preservation and sustainability of biological diversity by 2050.
