ANDRÉ FREITAS

Full Professor, State University of Campinas (UNICAMP), Leader of LABBOR

André has been a Professor at the Department of Animal Biology at UNICAMP since 2005 and was Director of the Institute of Biology at UNICAMP from 2018 to 2022. He also leads the Laboratório de Ecologia e Sistemática de Borboletas. He is experienced in ecology, systematics and evolution of Lepidoptera, with an emphasis on Nymphalidae. His research is focused mainly on: butterflies, conservation, taxonomy, immatures and phylogenetic systematics.
